The songs were an invitation to the show, whether you listened to вЂњOne Step CloserвЂќ and said вЂњThatвЂ™s so dope - itвЂ™s so angry,вЂќ or if you listened to вЂњIn the EndвЂќ and there was something about that pessimism and that negativity that you related to, you could come to our show.

So to write those words and then have that be the biggest song off the album, it forced me to have a different perspective on what that song is for, and what the meaning of that song in the world is.Д«asically, the songs were like an outreach. Actually, my friends often accuse me of finding the silver lining in things too often. If you listen to the lyrics, itвЂ™s so pessimistic, and IвЂ™m not really that pessimistic. The way the chorus came to me was in almost unabashed pessimism. Hybrid Theory track whose meaning has changed the most over the years I look at them and I feel like IвЂ™m looking at two roommates out of college. They had just come out of UCLA, having lived with one another for I donвЂ™t know how many years. Dave and Brad, in particular, you could tell they were college roommates. In fact, critic Steven Hyden, in his great new book on Kid A, RadioheadвЂ™s seminal album that came out the same month as Hybrid Theory, makes the case that while Radiohead became obsessed with вЂњevolvingвЂќ rock music and bringing it to the future, Linkin Park were the future.Д«elow, Shinoda goes over all the highs and lows of 20 years of Linkin Park.Д«iggest revelation from revisiting Hybrid Theory (Any legacy rock band would kill to have a YouTube video with billions of views - Linkin Park has two.) And in a post-emo rap world, Hybrid Theory sounds even more ahead of its time. Shinoda is also one of Linkin ParkвЂ™s main songwriters much of the Grammy-winning Hybrid Theory was born from him and his collaboration with his longtime bandmates, including late vocalist Chester Bennington. Initially viewed as one of the many вЂњthis too shall passвЂќ nu-metal releases of its era, Hybrid Theory, released on October 24, 2000, became the best-selling album of 2001 in the U.S., achieved rare diamond status by 2005 (10 million albums sold), and has sold over 25 million copies worldwide since. Be on the lookout for a quote on the inside cover of the original, which reads 'After eight months, she was sure of one thing: that the baby's future would be determined by the convergence of a divided past.вЂњI know that there are younger fans who are just getting into the album now,вЂќ f ounding Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda nonchalantly says of one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century. The only place to find either the original or the reissue nowadays is on online auction sites like eBay, but buyer beware some try to pass off the more common reissue as the rare and highly sought original. The reissue included modified artwork and liner notes, with a letter from the band thanking the fan club's members. Members from inaugural year of Linkin Park's fan club, the Linkin Park Underground, were given a chance-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase a reissue of the EP in 2001. From its sharp lyrics to its unique instrumentation, the album still maintains an underground sound of a band that's just about to make a big splash in the music industry. Many hardcore fans consider the release to be a masterpiece the perfect combination of rock, hip-hop, and electronica. Only 1000 copies were originally pressed and sent out to members of the Linkin Park Street Team to use for promotion. Once Bennington joined the Xero line-up, the band renamed itself to Hybrid Theory and soon released this 6-track EP in 1999.
